Jamie Hafner
is Director Emeritus of Bands at The University of Toledo and Director Emeritus of Education at the Brevard Music Center. He is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda,
music honorary fraternity and Phi Beta Mu, national bandmasters honorary fraternity.
He is an honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, national music fraternity and Kappa
Kappa Psi, honorary band fraternity. He is past
president of the Mid American Conference Band Directors Association and has degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He has been an Honorary Fellow in Conducting
at the University of Wisconsinand the University of Michigan.
As a conductor,
Professor Hafner has earned the praises of composers Ulysses Kay, Vincent Persichetti, Robert Ward, Karel Husa, Fisher Tull, Martin Mailman, Ron Nelsonand others for his interpretations of their music for band. In
1974, Professor Hafner received the University of Toledo's Outstanding Teaching Award, an honor which he
holds in high esteem.
