Dedicated to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Brass & Percussion Sections

in celebration of the new millenuim occurring
during the JSO's 50th Anniversary.

Scored for 4 trumpets,
4 french horns,
3 trombones,
tuba,
and two side drums.

Millenium celebrates the dawning of a new age

 and a dynamic time for the Jacksonville Symphony.

 This composition is a show piece.  The performers shall

 stand and carefully observe the stage decorum to fully

 communicate the essence and the energy of the music.

The piece opens and builds with flourishes and sections answering each other. Then there is a pause and the "2000 Moment" is announced. There is a Millenium harmony that gives one to pause
and reflect on where we are, how far we have come,
and how far we can go! There is a recap and then a final fanfare statement at the end based on the opening motif.

The players shall perform this piece with precision

and feel the music with passion!

 Millenium sets powerful expectations for our future,

 an era full of hope, energy, discovery,

and a new evolution of thought, word, and deed.
