Laura Steinke - French Horn
Laura Steinke is a native of Atlanta, Ga. She earned her Bachelors in Music Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music where she studied with David Krehbiel. She has studied and performed at various summer music programs including
the Aspen School of Music, Yale Summer School of Music, Sarasota Music Festival, Banff Music Festival, and Chautauqua Music Festival. She was a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra from 1985-1993. Most recently, Laura has been a member of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra from 2001-2006. She has now chosen to concentrate solely on the performance of chamber music.
Laura was a founding member of the Premier Brass in 1991 and once again our
hornist. Laura is also a member of the Green Creek Horns, a horn trio based out of Tryon, NC. Laura and her husband, Curt,
live on a 14 acre horse farm in the foothills of N.C. with 4 horses, 4 dogs, and 9 cats.
